From the Principal...

Dear Families,

Thank you so very much for spoiling the staff this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. I cannot tell you how much everyone loved all of the treats, gifts, and FOOD. The Reagan staff is so incredibly fortunate to have such amazing families!

Last Thursday we held our One School, One Book event and I’d like to get your feedback. Please take a few minutes to fill out a survey that will help our planning team make improvements for next year. https://tinyurl.com/yaluvksb

It’s finally getting warmer but keep sending coats, hats, and gloves for recess time. The weather is sure to be unpredictable for the next few weeks. You’ve got to love Nebraska!

Enjoy the weekend,

Tara Fabian

The Reagan staff will soon begin the process of designing class lists for the 2018-2019 school year. I get a significant amount of teacher requests from parents each year in the spring so I thought it would be helpful to share some insights into how class lists are created. Our main goal is to provide positive experiences for all students! We strive to create balanced classrooms with regards to personalities, abilities, needs, learning styles, peer relations, and gender balance. Staff work to place students in a learning environment that would best meet their individual needs. Each child is considered individually by members of the following teams: Teachers who currently work within the grade-level, HAL, Special Education, Speech Language Pathologists, Administration, Interventionists, and the School Counselor.

We recognize that you value your child's education and can offer valuable insight about them. If you would like to have input into your child’s placement for next year, please schedule an appointment with me. During this meeting, I will ask for you to share input about your child’s learning style, strengths, and areas of needed improvement. This input will be considered when Reagan teams make placement decisions. To make an appointment please email me at trfabian@mpsomaha.org or call 402-715-7100 prior to April 13. Input will not be considered in the process after April 13 as we begin making placement decisions at that time.

Thank you for your trust and support,

Tara Fabian

Planning for next year

Each spring we begin planning for the following year. It is helpful to know how many children to expect at each grade level. We would appreciate your help in making our projections for next year as accurate as possible. We always have a few families who will be moving. If you know that your child(ren), who currently attend Reagan, will be attending another school next fall, either in Millard, or one of the area school districts or out of town, would you please call the Reagan office 402-715-7100 and let us know. Also if you know of a family that has a new incoming Kindergartener please have them contact our office. Thanks for helping us with our planning!
