August 16, 2019
We had a full week of school where students learned and practiced our school-wide and classroom expectations. Teachers spent a great deal of time building communities in their classrooms and helping students build relationships with their new classmates. We had a great start to the year and I am so excited to see all the ways our Reagan eagles REACH UP for excellence this year.
Check your child(ren)'s Friday Folder each week for any important school information. We have a RSVP for our Back to School picnic in Friday Folders today. I hope you will be able to attend! It's a fun family event with bounce houses, face painting, and other activities. You can preorder hamburger or hotdog meals or bring your own food. Kona Ice will also be available.

Monica Rogers is a first year, first grade teacher here at Reagan! She had the incredible opportunity to student teach here last spring as well! She recently graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education this past May of 2019. This summer, she began working on my Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Improvement of Instruction from UNO through the CADRE program. She has been passionate about teaching, and specifically teaching in Millard, since she was little. She was born and raised in Omaha and received her K-12 education in Millard Public Schools. In her free time, she loves cheering on the Huskers, going on walks with her family, and spending time with friends at Scooter’s Coffeehouse!
Meet Our New Staff
Miss Ewell is also teaching first grade at Reagan this year. She is a graduate of Wayne State College, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Journalism, and College of St. Mary, where she earned her Master's of Arts in Teaching, and an endorsement in English Second Language. She dreamed of becoming a teacher ever since she was an elementary student, and she is so excited to begin her career at Reagan. Her philosophies of teaching are to do all that she can to create a safe, and welcoming environment within the classroom, make connections with students that allow her to learn what motivates them, identify each student's learning style, and implement ways to meet their learning needs. She was born and raised here in Nebraska, GO BIG RED! When she's not at school, you will find her at the movies, watching a Broadway show at the Orpheum, spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Huskers, and trying new local restaurants.

In order to get the most out of the one hour time slots, there is a need for 2 volunteers per classroom time slot. Helping out is gernerally as simple as passing out materials and assisting with clean-up!!
Volunteers should arrive a few minutes early to assist with set up! Check in with the office and then head to your child's classroom!
