Traditionally, fourth grade parents “pay it forward” by volunteering at Fifth Grade Farewell. This allows fifth grade parents to enjoy the event with their families. It’s also a great way to learn about what needs to be planned for the following year. Please consider helping out. Here is the link to sign up:

Please make sure you make arrangements to pick up all medications (prescribed and over-the-counter) before the last day of school. An adult must transport all medications. We are not allowed to send home medications with students. Any medications left at the school after the last day are properly disposed of. Hello Parents,
At Abbott, we have a long-standing tradition of holding “Move Up Day” on the last day of school, and we are excited to continue this tradition! However, this year, your child will move up to their grade level rather than being assigned a specific teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Teacher assignments will be shared in the summer letter, which will be sent out in June.
This approach allows our office staff to make necessary adjustments as new families enroll and opt-in students join our school over the summer. Our top priority is to create well-balanced class lists and ensure each student is placed with the best possible teacher for their growth and success.
Rest assured, we take great care in thoughtfully forming class lists so that every child has a positive and productive experience at Grace Abbott Elementary. This year, in particular, this process also ensures that I have the opportunity to review class lists with teams before they are finalized for the fall.

Thinking ahead for the 2025/2026 school year... If you or your business wants to help sponsor our Annual AVT Fundraiser T-Shirts and buzz books, please contact Jon Warren at Jonathon.Warren@interpublic.com or 402-830-3726. We will be getting shirt designs set-up over the summer and will print shortly after the school year starts!
For a suggested donation of $100 you can get your company logo on the annual t-shirts we order for each student, as well as have it in our buzz books that go home with many Grace Abbott families. Larger donations are appreciated, in doing so your logo will be enhanced to a larger size on each of our items. If you would like to sponsor in other ways, please let us know and we would be more than happy to work with you.
All Abbott Gators receive a shirt and wear them throughout the year!!

Each week we draw a Great Gator from every class to have popcorn with Mrs. Buckman. It is over for this year, but we look forward to some Great Gators next school year!!
