A Message from Mrs. Rudloff

The Bear Snores On

What a great performance by our 3rd graders! Last night the third grade performed "Bear Snores On." We packed the seats! They entertained us with their singing and fancy footwork. A special thank you to Mrs. Marble, Mrs. Passey, Mrs. Love, Mrs. Doyle and Mrs. Shanahan for all their hard work in preparing them for their performance.

Fuel Up to Play 60

Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP60) is an organization sponsored by the National Football League (NFL) and the National Dairy Council to promote activity 60 minutes a day.

Cottonwood has received grants for more than $8,000 over the last two years from FUTP60! We were able to purchase a refrigerator, coolers for field trips, indoor recess equipment (hula hoops, corn hole, jump ropes, juggling scarves, etc), P.E. equipment (nutrition games, posters, prizes for contests, etc.) and have speakers come in and talk about nutrition.

You will be seeing several “Fuel UP to Play 60 Challenges” that your child will have the opportunity to participate in. They involve a monthly calendar or other activity card that your child can fill out, you sign, and then return to me. They are usually sent home in the Friday folders. At the end of the challenge there is a drawing and one student per class will get to pick a prize. These are not mandatory challenges but ways to encourage your child to be active or a good citizen.

“Activity BINGO” was the September challenge and “Be active 60 minutes a day” is the October challenge.

Congratulations to the winners of the September BINGO challenge:

KIra Marino, George Manley, Jonah Kolvek, Reese Jacobson, Jace Peterson, Max Strandberg, Lydia Sittig, Daisy Frederick, Jonah Joor, Sammy McWilliams, AJ Kuchs, Kemp Stock, Everest Scherlizin, and Aidan Daly.
