Notes from Mrs. Burke
Dear Aldrich Families,
Thank you to all the parent volunteers and PTO classroom liaisons for your help making our Halloween parties yesterday so successful!
No School:
Reminder that there is no school on Tuesday, November 5th. There will also be no school November 27th-29th.
Cold Weather, Outerwear, and Recess:
As the weather officially turns colder; coats, hats, and mittens will be needed most mornings for Walking Club and recess.
🧥Please label your child’s things-including all layers (sweatshirts, coats, gloves), lunchboxes, and water bottles. We can easily return items to your child if there is a name on the tag!
❄️ We will do our best to go out for recess every day as long as it is not raining, snowing, and the temperature with wind chill is above 10 degrees. We use the weather.gov website to check the temperature with wind chill.
Millard Engagement Survey:
Your opinion matters. Millard Public Schools seeks to have engaged stakeholders to meet its mission. Strategy 1.2 (2018) calls for a survey to determine engagement of all stakeholders (students, families, staff, and community). Please take 10 minutes to provide us with your candid input. Your answers will be anonymous. If you have students in multiple buildings, you will receive a different link from each school. The survey window will remain open through November 15th. Here is the link to take the Aldrich survey.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dayna Burke
Aldrich Principal
Outdoor Classroom
Our outdoor classroom is complete! Thanks to our Aldrich Community's generosity during past fundraisers, we were able to install 6 tables outside on the south side of our building! These will be used as an outdoor space for students, staff, and families to learn, eat, and spend time together.
All Star Staff Member of the month
This weeks All Star Staff Member is Zahra Pfeifer!
Mrs. Pfeifer was nominated by Lauren Allen-Vidlak. She writes, “Zahra is our Health Room para but does so much more! She helps out in the workroom, helps teachers with projects, and covers the Front Desk whenever it is needed. She is always willing to come in early or stay late if we need help and is a friendly face for anyone that comes through the office. We appreciate you and everything you do Zahra!”
Thank you for making Aldrich a better place to learn and work!
Birthday Book Club
Thomas Jacobsen, “Who Would Win? Green Ants vs Army Ants”
Attention Parents!
The lost and found tables are overflowing with items! Please stop in before/after school to check the tables outside of the office for any misplaced items! Thank you!
Hello All Star families,
I hope everyone had a very happy Halloween! Wishing you lots of patience and perhaps extra caffeine as we navigate the post-sugar rush weekend ahead.
We're very much looking forward to our International Festival on November 7. This amazing community evening will showcase cultures represented in our community and our school. Chair Manu Birthere and the committee have some exciting updates in store for this year's event - we hope to see you all there! Please consider bringing a dish to showcase your family's culture. This event is an amazing time and celebrating all of the cultures represented within our school community makes it even more meaningful. You can sign-up to bring a dish here.
