Mrs. Henderson was nominated by Chris Srb. She shares, “ Miss Jaci Henderson demonstrates a versatile professionalism to serve students, staff, and parents on a daily basis. She is our extraordinary Speech Language Pathologist. Hello All Star families!
Our rescheduled PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 28 at 8:30 in the art room or online via Google Meets. Dr. Schwartz will be joining us to talk about the upcoming bond election for Millard Public Schools. If you have any questions about the bond election, I would highly encourage you to attend one of the informational sessions or join us for our PTO meeting, whether online or in person. We will also review the nominating committee's candidates for PTO officers next year. Please contact Jacquelyn Alexander, nominating committee chair, if you are interested in serving in an officer role next year. Her email is jma982@gmail.com.
The upcoming bond election is a "vote by mail only" election. Ballots have started going out via US mail, so please be on the lookout for those. The bond focuses on safety and upkeep of existing structures. Aldrich is one of the buildings that would be renovated if the bond passes. The bond is a zero tax rate increase bond. You can find out more about the bond election, the proposed areas for expenditures, and more about our facilities at mpsomaha.org.
Ongoing reminders -
Valentines Day Parties:
Will take place Thursday February 13th at 2:30 pm. An email has been sent to all classroom liaisons and teachers regarding the party supplies and volunteer needs. All lead classroom liaisons will hear from their classroom teachers by January 31st to order party supplies and coordinate volunteers. Classroom liaison leads will communicate the details of the party and opportunities to volunteer to the classroom parents and guardians via email after they have heard from the teachers.
2nd and 3rd Grade Classroom Liaisons:
Will work together on planning the combine 2nd/3rd grade hosted staff luncheon on February 26th. All classroom liaisons for these 2 grades will receive an email by the end of January to initiate planning.
-Walking club volunteers are needed every morning in order to continue offering Walking Club. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the winter weather and that they are wearing their Walking Club lanyard upon arrival.
-Please make sure that you're following safety guidelines with the parking lot as well as the dropoff/pickup lines. We've had several parents speak up about safety concerns and we can all do a better job of practicing safety on school grounds. Please be sure to use the pickup line rather than forming another line in the parking lot.
-Reserved parking spots were paid for by two families during the carnival silent auction - we are working on a better solution for the signs, but please be respectful of the fact that these families paid for the right to use these parking spots for the year, even if the signs have blown down. This includes morning drop off and afternoon pickup.
-Our directory is accessible through RunPTO. Our org ID is Aldrich_MPS and you can log in here: https://www.runpto.com/pto/login. If you need assistance with your login, please email aldrichptopresident@outlook.com.
-We have not had many volunteers for the lunchroom or library duty; please consider signing up for a shift if you are able.
-Our online store is still open so that families can order hats, yard signs, stickers & window clings. Online store link: https://www.runpto.com/ptocart/cart?schoolid=aldrich_mps&app=Cart&hash=08b255a5d42b89b0585260b6f2360bdd
