Kaylen Wheeler-Gooden
6th Grade Resource Room Teacher, CHMS
Ms. Kaylen Wheeler-Gooden graduated from Mona Shores High School and then went to Western Michigan University for her BA General Studies and then to Purdue University where she earned her Global Masters of Professional Studies-Human Services Education.
She has spent the past 11 years working with children and families in Muskegon County in education and non-profit settings, most recently as a youth program director and resource teacher. She is passionate about helping students grow academically and empowering them to be the best they can be. She strives to build relationships and create an environment where all students can thrive.
Her favorite thing about Muskegon is the sense of community. Having lived here most of her life, she has enjoyed building relationships and seeing how connected people are.
Kaylen and her husband both work in education. They have an adventurous 2 year old daughter who keeps them busy. She also loves music and traveling.
Fun fact: Kaylen sang the national anthem for my masters degree commencement and this past 4th of July for the city of Muskegon.
