Misty Poole graduated from Lebanon High School in Indiana and graduated from Kaplan University (now Purdue Global) - Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Law (Masters Degree). Misty brings more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement, criminal investigations, and higher education to the Criminal Justice & First Responders Program.

Misty brings more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement, criminal investigations, and higher education to the Criminal Justice & First Responders Program.
Throughout her career, she has served as a patrol officer, detective, field training officer, and sergeant, and has worked alongside the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Most recently, she’s spent eight years specializing in complex fraud investigations while also teaching criminal justice at the college level.

Fun Fact: As an officer, Misty has had the pleasure of removing from homes, trashcans, garages, water softener units, and vehicles a wide variety of pigs, boar, cow, dogs, possums, raccoons, bear, alligators, and snakes. I've had alligators as large as 8 feet long to contend with and snakes as big as 18 feet long (pictured).

Misty's husband, Don Poole, has been teaching in the area for about 28 years. There are 8 kids between them and all of them are grown and either adulting, in the military, or in college. They have two rabbits; Bugs and Dusty.

Ms. Poole is excited to share her real-world experience with students through hands-on learning, mentorship, and leadership development. "Every student has the potential to lead, serve, and make a positive difference in their community. My goal is to help them discover that potential through education, experience, and ethical leadership."
