Hello - I'm Bridget Cheney and teaching has always been a passion of mine. I was a paraprofessional, then taught third and fifth grade before becoming an elementary principal. Moving to central office allowed for me to put my experiences to good use in a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade setting.

I graduated from Lakewook High School in Odessa, MI, and then earned my Bachelor of Arts from Aquinas College and my Masters from Western Michigan University.

I am looking forward to working in Muskegon Public Schools because of the strong sense of connection within the district and its deep ties to the broader Muskegon community. There is such a contagious pride in Muskegon, and exciting things are happening!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, tackling home projects, golfing, and attending district sporting events. I am naturally curious and love opportunities to learn and experience something new. Whether it is a new place, an activity I have never tried before, or meeting someone and hearing their story, I genuinely enjoy discovering things I didn't know before.

Fun facts about me: I love being left-handed, and I grew up on a farm and much to my mom's dismay, began driving tractors at 5 years old.
