Colleen Black

Hi! I'm Ms. Black. I graduated from Muskegon High School (Go Big Reds!) and earned my Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Grand Valley State University. 

I started working as an academic interventionist at Oakview Elementary in 2008. I worked with all ages at the elementary, using LLI and other reading and math interventions. I worked at Oakview up until 2020. After that, I returned to school so I could finish my degree. 

My favorite thing about Muskegon is the small town feel and the sense of community and pride from the people who live here. The forests and lake are precious treasures that my family and I try not to take for granted. 

My daughter Rose is the light of my life, and my best friend. We like to go to concerts together as often as we can, and spend our time at home doing creative projects, or home improvements. We have rescue cats that keep us company while we work. A fun fact: We have found small success running an online clothing resale shop!
