Hola! I am from Venezuela and earned my Bachelor in English as a Foreign Language from UNAD. I have worked with students of different ages and language levels for over 15 years. Before moving to the U.S., I taught English to K–12, and adult learners. Most recently, I taught high school Spanish and supported English Learners in K–12 and adult education. I enjoy helping students gain confidence and make progress in learning a new language.

One of my favorite things about West Michigan is the strong sense of community. Since moving here, I've appreciated how welcoming people are. I'm excited about the opportunity to work at Muskegon Public Schools, support multilingual learners, and be part of a team that makes a positive difference for students.

I have been married for 22 years and have two children who are a very important part of my life. I enjoy spending time with my family and appreciate quiet moments at home. In my free time, I love reading, and recently I have started enjoying coloring as a relaxing creative activity. I also enjoy watching movies and series occasionally. I value simple moments that help me slow down and recharge.

A fun fact about me is that I started learning English more than 25 years ago. Even though I earned a degree in English as a Foreign Language, received a bilingual certificate, and worked as a bilingual customer service representative, moving to the U.S. was a completely different experience. I remember feeling overwhelmed by the language and joking that maybe I wasn’t really bilingual — I was “bye-lingual” because I was still learning English and slowly forgetting some Spanish! It has been a great reminder that learning a language is a lifelong journey.
