Welcome to Room 205!
Hello Families! Hola familias!
My name is Heather Wittstruck-Egtvedt (Ms. Wittstruck or Ms. W.). This is my 17th+ year teaching, but 1st year at Folwell. I’ve taught K-5 art, K-5 gifted and talented education, 2E 4th and 5th grade and 5th grade. The last five years, I stayed home with my son until last year he started kindergarten and now I’m back to teaching. I see teaching through the lens of an educator, but also a parent.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education with Art Minor from Morningside College, a Master of Science in Education with an Emphasis of Reading and Literacy from Walden University, Certification in Gifted and Talented Education from St. Mary’s University and graduate coursework from Minnesota State University Mankato.
I love spending time with my husband, Paul, son, Bjorn (6) and boxer pitbull, Bella (7). I love animals! I enjoy being with friends and family, sitting on my balcony with my dog, cooking, attending local festivals and fairs, farmer’s markets, art shows, and playing Legos and creating art with my son. I’m a fiber artist, watercolor and abstract mixed media painter. I’ve participated in several community and individual art shows. I plan to use my creativity to integrate art into the classroom. I live in Minneapolis and proud to be an MPS employee and parent of an MPS student.
I believe we can work as a team to make your student’s year successful.
