Prior to beginning to podcast with students, the teacher will:
Determine which lesson/unit the podcasting project will support.
Work through the "Getting Started with Classroom Podcasting" Teacher Guide
Have the support of a Technology Integration Specialist to work through a practice podcast and learn the resources students will use throughout the project.
Identify (and reserve if necessary) quiet spaces for students to record their podcasts.
45 minute lesson (could be extended by teacher)
Guided by their teacher, students explore, discuss, and complete the "Getting Started with Classroom Podcasting" Student Guide, culminating in creating a 60-second (+/-) podcast.
Students work collaboratively in teams of 2-4 to:
Determine the format and topic(s) for their podcast episode(s)
Write and edit a podcast script
Record their podcast
Complete edits, mix in music/audio tracks
Follow the publishing procedures as outline by their teacher.
