My name is Jennie Song (she/her) and I am excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year! Dowling is such a special place to learn and grow; it is a community I am proud to be a part of and I hope for your family to feel the same. We have a fun year planned and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child!

A little background: I moved to Minneapolis from New York City in 2016. I graduated from Augsburg University with my BS in Elementary Education in 2020 and completed my student teaching here at Dowling. This will be my fifth year teaching kindergarten.

My husband Alex and I recently bought our first home in South Minneapolis and I am thrilled to be living within the community I serve (and to finally have a fenced in yard for our dog Toad!) Our free time is usually spent either biking or walking around our neighborhood, taking mini-road trips to explore mountain biking trails around Minnesota, camping, golfing, or visiting family in Illinois and Wisconsin. 

After a relaxing summer, I am eager to start a new school year with Dowling's youngest learners and hope you are, too! I look forward to working together with you to make this a successful and fun year for our kindergarteners!
