Dear Roosevelt Families,
Beginning Spring Session 2024, Roosevelt Drivers Ed registration will move to a lottery system with the hope of creating a more equitable distribution of the 30 spots in our Drivers Ed classes. Parents/guardians/students will have one week to join the waiting list (which will require completed registration and payment information). Once the registration window closes, 30 students will be selected at random and moved into the class. Selected students and parent/guardians will be notified via email and payments will be processed at that time. Students who are not selected will remain on the waiting list and contacted only if a spot becomes available. Waiting lists do not carry over to the next session, you will need to re-apply.
The Spring 2024 Session of Drivers Ed at Roosevelt:
Class will meet May 6th - 17th from 3:30-6:30pm (Monday-Friday afternoons for two weeks) at Roosevelt High School.
Registration Window: This class will be available for registration online between Monday, March 4th and Monday, March 11th. The class will appear “full” but it’s not… we are requiring everyone to join the waiting list first (which will require completed registration and payment information) and we will select 30 students at random once the registration window has closed. Students and parent/guardians will be notified via email if they have been selected the week of March 11th, the remaining students will stay on the waiting list and will be notified only if a spot becomes available.
Drop-In Registration Assistance: If you need help completing your online registration, you may drop by our office during the following days and times, and we can help get you signed up:
Roosevelt Community Ed Office: Room 155
Monday, March 4th: 3:30-5pm
Wednesday, March 6th: 3:30-5pm
Friday, March 8th: 11:15am-1:15pm
Confirmations and Communications will be sent via EMAIL!!!
When is the Next Class???

Student Classroom Expectations
Obtaining a driver’s license and driving a car is a privilege that comes with serious responsibility. The following is a list of expectations students must abide by, in order to attend and pass this class:
I understand that driving a car is a privilege that comes with serious responsibilities. I will respect my instructor, the guidelines for the classroom and the method of teaching that is presented to me.
I will attend every class session, be on time, and fully engaged in learning at each class session.
I will be prepared to learn every day by bringing my study materials and a writing utensil.
I will communicate with my instructor. I understand my instructor wants me to succeed and pass this class. I will advocate for myself by asking questions if I do not understand the material presented.
I will take care of myself by bringing a snack and drink (if needed) to have during our short class breaks.
I will use self-control and put my cell phone away during class time. (Not only does cell phone use disrupt learning, it is illegal and deadly to use while driving. If you cannot exercise the self-control to put your phone away during class, then you are not ready to attend this class. Our instructors reserve the right to confiscate phones)
I understand that failure to follow these expectations may result in the student being removed from class and that class tuition fees will not be refunded if I am removed from class or if I do not complete the 30-hours of scheduled class time.
Attendance Requirements
Classes are highly structured and there is NO flexibility for missing classes or making-up the work.
