Our Cats: Snuggles (black nose) & Muffin

Hello! I'm Kaye DeBlieck, an E1 teacher at Seward Montessori School. I have been teaching for 25 years in Minneapolis Public Schools. I have taught 1st - 4th in a regular education setting. I have been at Seward for about 13 years.

I am married to Bruce. We have been married for 21 years. I have two bonus kids. Oliver and Savannah are both in their 20's now. Oliver will be 30 soon! We had Emmalise in 2003. She is now 17 and is a senior at South High this school year.

I am here to support students and parents as we navigate through Distance Learning together. I look forward to the communication with students and families.

Distance Learning Dictionary

Here are some Distance Learning words and terms you might be hearing. What do the words mean?

Synchronous Time

This is when students meet together with their teacher as a class or small group. This is virtual, face-to-face, live meeting class time.

For Room 101, there is live teaching Monday through Thursday.

Asynchronous Time

This is when students are expected to work independently on assignments.

For specialist time on Friday's in Room 101, these sessions will be a recorded lesson on Seesaw. There will not live teaching that day with the classroom teacher.

Blend of

synchronous and asynchronous

The schedule includes a blend of the two. There will be a time that your student is live with the teacher, and other times when they are working independently.
