Hello North Scholars - Parents and Guardians! My name is Mr. Peterson. In anticipation of In-Person Learning starting this year as the Visual Arts Teacher for 2021-2022, I look forward to seeing each of you and will still have a Google Classroom page for each class with the necessary Class Resources uploaded. You can view my daily schedule by clicking the "My Classes" tab above. For students that are enrolled the code will be sent corresponding to each class period.

This will be my 7th year of teaching Visual Arts in the district. I have a passion for creating Art, which includes sharing the freedom of expression through various mediums and styles within the context of Art History.

I grew up on a small dairy farm in Rice Lake, Wisconsin where I appreciated a country life, based around living from the land and working hard in the fields. I finished High School there and went to earn my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Painting-Drawing with a minor in Art History at UW-Milwaukee. Afterwards, I pursued two spiritual dreams in being a part of two church teams as a missionary for the gospel in both near my hometown and my father’s hometown. My faith walk has helped shape my experiences and character, which have taught me a lot about life. After working some side jobs to provide for my family like: newspaper routes, telemarketing, both a UPS and FedEx route driver... I still felt that I wanted to create and share the creative process with students. So I pursued a combined MN teaching licensure and Masters of Instruction degree from St. Mary's University-Mpls. All of this I have had from a variety of life experiences to incorporate within my teaching practice.

My wife Claudia and I have been married since 2012. We have an adorable little boy, Princeton (Prince). We enjoy thrifting and antiquing together. I am also passionate about my own artistry and have been building a portfolio for selling my work on Etsy. My Professional-site is https://sites.google.com/view/pap-art/home. When not teaching art, I also teach at my local church fellowship with a focus upon Judeo-Christian theology - Shalom!
