AP World History

Course Description

Part of The College Board

In this class we will explore a bunch of different regions of the world in depth, and in the process we will better understand our place in the world. Our focus will be on two essential AP components-historical thinking skills, and course content. You will learn seven historical thinking skills which will include learning how to make an argument using historical evidence, and identifying connections between different regions of the world and different time periods. The content will be built around four main topics: Belief Systems, Trade Networks, Labor Systems, and Empire Building. Although our research will focus on preparing you for the AP exam, my approach to this class is to motivate you to be more passionate about learning in general. You are in this class because you have proven your dedication to the learning process. Know that my main objective is to spark your interest, not extinguish it. This class will not only deeply challenge your mind, but also challenge your perspective. The AP curriculum will push you to step outside of your comfort zone. And if you take on this AP challenge with perseverance and pride you will be rewarded with a college credit at the end of the year!

The scholar will take the AP World History Exam for the opportunity to earn college credit!
