This course will provide you with knowledge of the basics of drawing. We will start by covering the Art Elements that include: Line, Shape, Form, Value, Texture, and Space. Each unit will develop one or more of the Elements and include Design Principles in order to better understand the role of art in contemporary society as well as context within art history. Course Skills and Techniques learned will include: Linear perspective, Portrait drawing (Facial Features), Still-Life drawing, Pointillism, etc. There will be a variety of drawing media, including… but not limited to Graphite, Charcoal, Craypas and Micron Pen. As a developing artist you will learn about perceiving, decoding, and participating in the visual culture around you.
