On May 19th, the Southwest auditorium and gallery came alive for the Southwest IB Art Show and Film Festival. Attendees explored incredible gallery pieces and heard directly from artists Ella Makosky, Summit Olson, and Max Rosielle as they shared the inspiration behind their artistic processes. 

The crowd cast their votes for the student film showcase, and the competition was fierce. Huge congratulations to this year's award-winning filmmakers:

• 🏆 Best in Show, Best Cinematography, & Best Editing: Birthplace by Summit Olson

• 💡 Most Creative: Giants Ridge Alpine Ski Camp by Sloane Peterson

• 🔊 Best in Sound: Birthplace by Mattea Raabe

Shoutout to the other standout films that kept the audience glued to their seats: Summit Olson’s Is it Worth It?, Johannes Erickson’s BSU doc, Max Rosielle’s Wild Photographer, Dash Parson’s Skipping Epidemic, and Deegan Oliver’s BMX Doc.
