May 13: Senior Awards Night at Southwest 6:30 p.m.
May 28 & 29: Senior Finals
May 30: Last School Day for Seniors
Last Day for Credit Recovery Completion
Last Day to Complete MPS Online Classes
May 31: Senior Overnight Party (www.southwestseniorparty.com)
June 3: Graduation Rehearsal & Cap/Gown/Ticket Pickup (Mandatory) 9:00 am at Southwest
June 8: Graduation Ceremony 6 p.m. at Minneapolis Convention Center

Zoe Sumner Wins Athena Award
Zoe Sumner Wins Athena Award
Congratulations to senior Zoe Sumner, who is this year's Athena Award winner from Southwest. She was honored at the Athena Awards banquet on Friday, May 2. Each year, the Athena Awards recognize the outstanding senior female athlete from each Minneapolis city, suburban and private high school and honor each woman for her achievements in one or several sports.

On Wednesday, April 30, MPS Superintendent Dr. Lisa Sayles-Adams visited Southwest to honor Southwest teacher Ms. Caroline Hooper with the MPS Shines Award. During Dr. Sayles-Adams' visit, Ms. Hooper presented academic awards to her AVID 11 students so Dr. Sayles-Adams could celebrate with them, too. We are so proud of our students and Ms. Hooper and thank Dr. Sayles-Adams for joining us.
