Well hello there, Friend! My name is Allison Hatz, (pronounced Hats) and this is my fourth year at MPLS public schools. I was born and raised in Pine City, Minnesota then moved to Duluth for college. I lived in Duluth for 5 years and it still may be my favorite place in Minnesota. My favorite hobbies to do (besides art) are hiking, biking, kayaking, and gardening. I love everything about the outdoors and a lot of my art is inspired by nature & animals. If I'm not outside I am probably watching my favorite show of all time: The Office.

 My favorite thing to teach in art is culture. I find it fascinating that this world is filled with endless lifestyles and stories to be shared and enjoyed. One of my favorite lessons to teach is about an Indigenous artist, Frank Big Bear, (from Minnesota!!) who uses colored pencils to create these amazing, colorful drawings. 

I am so excited to see what amazing ideas & creations come from my beautifully-minded students! :)
