My name is Sam Woolever, and I am pleased to be the Media Specialist at Sanford Middle School. I joined the Sanford staff in the fall of 2019, and have been teaching since the fall of 2009. Previously I taught for 6 years at Northrop Elementary and 4 years at Anthony Middle School.

I grew up near the small town of Pelican Rapids, MN where I graduated High School in 2003. We lived on a hobby farm outside of town where we had chickens, ducks, geese, horses, a dog and a cat. My town was so small that it only had 2 traffic lights and the nearest Target was 50 miles away. After hight school, I attended college in Duluth where I started at the University of Minnesota - Duluth before transferring and graduating from the College of St. Scholactica in the winter of 2007. Once out of college, I served in the AmeriCorps in Duluth for 1 year where I worked on children's literacy projects before moving to Minneapolis.

Education has always been a strong part of my family. Both of my parents were teachers; my mom taught pre-school and my dad taught elementary special education. My sister is currently an art teacher, and even one of my grandma's taught in a one room schoolhouse in Iowa.

During my free time I enjoy playing with my daughter, motorcycling, riding bike, and going to the State Fair as much as possible.
