¡Hola y bienvenidos a kínder! Me llamo Rachel Loayza y es mi octavo año como maestra en Minneapolis Public Schools. Me alegra mucho ser parte nuestra clase. He sido maestra por más que una década y recibí mi maestría en Hamline University en inglés como segunda lengua. Aunque viví y enseñé en Tegucigalpa, Honduras por dos años, crecí en Minnesota y estoy disfrutando criar a mis hijos aquí. Mi esposo Miguel, quien es de Lima, Perú, y yo tenemos cuatro hijos: Benjamín (en séptimo grado), Leah (en cuarto grado), Gabriel (en tercer grado), y Nico (en kínder).  Leah, Gabriel y Nico asisten a Green conmigo. Nos encanta explorar a Minnesota, trabajar en el jardín, comer comida peruana, tomar viajes a Perú y comprar en Costco. Mi hobby favorito es trabajar con mis plantas, dentro de mi casa y afuera en mi jardín.

Hello and welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Rachel Loayza and this is my eighth year as a teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools. I am very happy to be a part of our class. I have been teaching for more than 10 years, and have a Master’s degree from Hamline University in English as a second language. Although I spent two years living and teaching in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I grew up in Minnesota and am enjoying raising my children here. My husband Miguel, who is from Lima, Perú, and I have four children: Benjamin (a 7th grader), Leah (a 4th grader), Gabriel (a 3rd grader) and Nico (a kindergartener). Leah, Gabriel and Nico attend Green with me. We like to explore Minnesota, work in the yard, eat Peruvian food, take trips to Perú and shop at Costco. My favorite hobby is working with my plants, inside my house and out in my garden.
