Jill Oxborough

Ms. Jill

Welcome to Bancroft!

My name is Jill Oxborough and this is my fifth year teaching Kindergarten in Minneapolis. I joined the Bancroft community during the 2017-2018 school year and after a year away teaching in Northeast Minneapolis, I am so happy to be back!

I grew up in south Minneapolis, just a few blocks away from Bancroft. After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in elementary education, I began my teaching career in New York City, where I taught Pre-K for two years. From there I spent some time teaching in a kindergarten classroom in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I've had a variety of teaching experiences but I am so happy to be back teaching in the neighborhood I grew up in!

My passion lies in embracing the curiosity of each young learner, creating an environment that fosters to inquiry, guiding students on their journey to becoming lifelong learners. This year will be full of learning and joy! We will develop skills to become readers, mathematicians, scientists, and kind and caring members of the global community. I look forward to an amazing, fun filled school year!

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, walking the lakes, and eating at all the delicious local restaurants!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
