The International Baccalaureate Organization's Mission is:
"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

What are the Foundational Elements of an IB Education?
The Learner Profile
"The International Baccalaureate® (IB) learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success.
They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them.
Each of the IB's programmes is committed to the development of students according to the IB learner profile."

The Approaches to Learning Skills
ATL skills are specific skills we explicitly teach students that prepare them to take charge of their own education and learning. The ATL skills also prepare students to achieve their post-eduction goals and ambitions and teach them how to thrive in our current global context.
Check out our Anthony ATL Skills Chart below to see what the specific ATL skills our IB curriculum aims to teach students.
The Global Contexts
The Global Contexts help our educators guide students in becoming internationally minded - essentially answers "Why are we learning this?" or "How does this matter?"
The Global Contexts are the big, universal concepts. They highlight the importance of what students learn and how that learning may transfer to life outside of school.
