ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I did yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised at how far that gets you.
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
My name is Mr. Cass and I currently teach 12th grade Physics and AP Physics as well as 11th grade AP Chemistry. This will be my 10th year teaching at North and I teach here because I love the family atmosphere and culture. Additionally, I see the massive amount of potential our scholars have and want to show and help them find their power, with which they can transform the world.

My teaching philosophy is to treat the brain like a muscle - challenge it and make it strain a bit in order for it to grow stronger. I do this by exposing my students to natural phenomena through hands-on, interactive activities and then helping them figure out how and why their experiences are the way they are. In this way, I am not just telling them to memorize scientific facts, but developing their scientific skills, knowledge, and literacy in the hope of assisting our scholars in reaching the stars, both figuratively and literally.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife Coresa, our sons Theo (3) and Otto (<1), and our Great Dane Zoey. I also enjoy coaching the Polar football team, biking, cooking, reading sci-fi/fantasy, hockey, and waterskiing down the road with the Twin Cities River Rats.
