I am a Special Education Resource Teacher at Jenny Lind. I have been teaching at Lind since 2015 after receiving my Special Education degree from Augsburg College, and have since taught students in grades K-4.
I enjoy the creative process (and oftentimes detective work) of discovering ways to make education accessible to every kind of learner. My goal is to cultivate an understanding for students that all differences and challenges are accepted and valued, to celebrate successes and strengths, and to teach the whole child. I work with students at their level to grow in literacy and math and develop strategies for independence. I also teach and support skills in emotional regulation, executive functioning, social interactions, and building positive and healthy relationships with others.
Outside of teaching, I’m a big fan of frequent naps, all kinds of ice cream, boat rides, game nights, good jams, crossword puzzles, buffalo sauce, learning new words, and hanging out with my dog, Willie.
I feel so lucky to be a part of the Jenny Lind community, to be with our amazing students every day - on the fun days and the tough days - and to watch them grow through their experiences. I’m thankful for the awesome teachers and staff I get to collaborate with, who help me continue to grow as an educator and an individual.
