Coordinate Graphing is often included in an Algebra unit because graphing equations is a great way to get a visual picture of the abstract idea (the equation).
The x-axis is the horizontal (left to right) axis.
The y-axis is the vertical (up and down) axis.
Coordinates are labeled with ordered pairs.
(0,0) is an ordered pair.
(0,0) is the place where the x-axis and the y-axis intersect.
(0,0) has a special name. It's call the origin.
