We have a STEM Handbook built specifically for STEM and MESA programs and their unique needs.
We encourage students to explore opportunities on the peninsula in STEM. We want you working on your resume, being ready to go out and advocate for yourself, and learning more about the career possibilities in STEM locally and afar.
The WORK program will support you in multiple ways meeting you where you are at. These two courses will be part of that preparation.
WORK 496 Professional and Essential Skills is a noncredit course that will allow you to create a resume, practice interviewing, networking, and prepare for an internship.
WORK 499 Career-related Work Experience is a practical course that will partner with your STEM internship and provide you with a structured experience. This will include setting measurable goals, tracking your hours for possible compensation, being evaluated in a safe and supportive environment on your performance, and reflecting on your experience in the internship.
This STEM Handbook has been prepared for your unique needs in STEM. The WORK student page walks you through the steps you will need to follow.
