DENEGRI NOTES

What a wonderful three days it has been! The students arrived at school on Wednesday with such enthusiasm and excitement, and there was such a HAPPY feeling in the halls and the classrooms! Our First Day of School Assembly on the football field provided the foundation for a great start, especially as we prayed together and Father gave us a beautiful blessing. The students also listened to for the first time our school Servant Song, which becomes our theme during the year for our retreats, our service projects, and our all-school Masses. The name of the song is "No Fear in Love" and will be played at the end of each all-school Mass.

Because we have such a high level of school spirit at The Mount, every Friday is SPIRIT FRIDAY, and the students may wear a ROCKET spirit t-shirt or sweatshirt with their uniform skirt or pants!

When you look at next week's calendar, you will notice that on Tuesday, August 17th, we have scheduled a fire drill. Our teachers will go over all the details for this particular drill. The following week we have scheduled two safety drills. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us. Because one of our top priorities is making sure our students and staff feel safe and ARE safe, MSM conducts these types of drills on a regular basis.

ROCKET athletics is now in full swing, and it is exciting to see and hear our students cheering loud in the stands! As with all our high expectations of our students, we expect them to hold themselves with respect and honor for the opposing team, regardless if we're playing games on our home field or if we are guests at other schools. We also hold these same standards of our parents. Furthermore, at The Mount all our fans assist with cleaning up after ourselves. So thank you for taking the time to take a look around your seats and assisting with picking up trash. Through this type of attitude, we demonstrate our Mercy charisms of dignity and respect towards one another.

Thank you for your amazing kids! Their beautiful smiles and eager attitudes have made for a great start to our New Year! They truly are The Spirit of The Mount...

God bless you and God bless Mount St. Mary Catholic High School!
