1. Contacting The Teacher

Throughout the school year, I will contact you by phone, e-mail, or notes sent home in your child’s Homework Folder. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me at the school by phone . If you would like to schedule a meeting time, I would appreciate a note or phone call so we can arrange a convenient time for both of us. Having a scheduled meeting will allow me to give you my undivided attention. Thank you for your understanding!

2. Homework

We will discuss homework in further detail at Back to School Night. Until then, there will be small assignments to get the students into homework routines. It is your child’s responsibility to do homework at home and remember to bring it back to school the next day. With that being said, please give friendly reminders during the beginning of the year until your child has gotten into a routine.

3. Book From Home

Should your child finish class work early, they can bring in a book from home. This can be a book from home or the town library. Students are always welcome to choose from the books in our classroom library, too, but some prefer to bring a book from home for pleasure reading.

4. Snack

Since second grade eats lunch at 12:06 pm, we will have a morning snack every day. Please send in a snack that is quick and easy to open, nutritious, and filling. Students are allowed to bring water bottles, if they choose to. Just for your information, we do have a water fountain in the hallway that the students have access to. Preferred snacks include things like fruit, pretzels, granola bars, a box of raisins, Goldfish, etc. Items to try and avoid for snack time are yogurt, applesauce, pudding, etc. These items are ok to send in for lunchtime, but are too messy and time consuming for snack time. The snack should be separate from your child’s lunch. Thank you for your cooperation!
