Week 9 Playoffs

Players and Parents,

Last week the regular season and JV/9th grade seasons came to an end. The 9th Grade finished the season 5-2-1, and the JV Finished 5-3, phenomenal seasons for both. The varsity finished the season with a bang, defeating the 4th ranked team in the state Cooper 41-13 on Senior/Parent Night. Varsity finished the regular season 6-2, and has some serious momentum headed into the Section 5AAAAA playoffs Tuesday. I am so proud of how hard the boys have worked this season, and how buying into the program mindset and culture has translated to success on and off the field.

9th Grade will conclude the season Monday with a season wrap-up and equipment meeting. Meet in LL17 at 3:25pm. Please have all equipment, game uniforms, and practice uniforms ready to turn in. If your 9th grader is continuing with the Varsity, they will keep their stuff until the varsity season is over. 9th Grade will also have a potluck style team celebration, the day/time is yet to be determined, will be coming soon via email, please watch for it.

For the JV and Varsity our attention now turns to the playoffs. We earned the #3 Seed and will play Park Center Tuesday 10/23/18 at home 7pm. After a huge win, I think it is important to ground ourselves, and take things one day at a time now that we are in the "Win or Go Home" part of our season. I know that every player and coach want to make this season last as long as possible, and not for the usual reasons. Being together everyday with a group this bought in has been special, and earning the chance to keep it rolling is a great motivating factor.

Our quote for this week brings us back to our week three focus after winning our first game of the season. “What happened yesterday is history. What happens tomorrow is a mystery. What we do today makes a difference.” - Nick Saban-

We need to take the next few days very seriously and enjoys every minute we have together in order to keep this thing rolling.
