Week 7 StLP
Players and Parents,
Another week and another sweep for our program. 9th Grade, JV, and Varsity were all victorious over Henry Sibley this week. That makes two weeks in a row, and our third time this season that we have been able to win all our games in a given week. This is a testament to the commitment our team has made to getting better every chance they get, and focusing on the process.
The varsity team overcame some adversity to take away a victory Friday night at Henry Sibley. The playing surface and conditions were challenging for us, and Sibley executed a sound game plan to keep them selves in the game on their homecoming until the very end. In the past these circumstances may has been too much for us to overcome, but not this season. I was proud of how the players and coaches focused on fixing mistakes as we went, and staying positive while be battled adversity. We came out ahead on the scoreboard, but I think most importantly we came away with a list of improvements we need to make to reach our full potential, and the motivation on nearly being upset to move us into this week.
Our quote to focus on this week is “The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.” -Vince Lombardi-. As we continue on this journey, the more and more work we pour into being Top Notch, the harder it is to accept anything less from ourselves. It is an exciting time to be a part of the program.
This week marks the last week we have a normal weekly schedule. As we move into MEA Week I want to remind players and parents on Varsity/JV players that we have mandatory practices on Thursday and Friday of MEA Weekend. These practices are critical, as we will most likely have a playoff game the Tuesday following MEA break. All freshman are invited to practice with us then, and if they do will be invited to dress for the playoff games.
Thanks for all your continued support!
Onto St. Louis Park!
Also congratulations to Parker Frieberg (12) RB who with his 163 Rushing Yards Friday night became the schools all-time leading rusher. For his career he has 2154 yards rushing and 26 Touchdowns. Way to go Parker and all the teammates who helped him make it happen!
