Week 4 CR
Player and Parents,
Another solid week for all levels of play in our program. 9th Grade picked up a 16-0 win, Varsity won 21-7, and JV lost a close contest 24-20. I asked the players last week to focus on effort, and not being satisfied. We talked about the only way a successful person is satisfied, is if they give full effort, and the only person who knows who if they are giving that, is them. Following the varsity's impressive performance Friday, I stressed again how important is is that we celebrate our effort and improvement, but that as we continue to get better, we just set our standards higher. Satisfaction comes knowing you drained your tank and gave full effort at school, practice, and the games, so you can be the best version of yourself for your teammates.
We are looking forward to the challenge of playing an undefeated Coon Rapids on homecoming. This week we will use the following quote from Nick Saban to guide out mindsets for the week. "What happened yesterday is history. What happens tomorrow is a mystery. What we do TODAY makes a difference.” -Nick Saban- I think it is important that our players are involved in the community building that takes place during homecoming week, but I also think it is equally as important that we don't get wrapped up in non essential things. So please make good choices, and make sure those choices reflect your personal goals, as well as the goals of the team.
On to Coon Rapids.
