Week 1 SLP

Players and Parents,

We wrapped up a great Fall Training Camp with a solid performance at our scrimmage with St. Francis on all levels. Scrimmages allow us to test ourselves at a level we can't simulate at practice, exposing the areas where we are strong, but more importantly the areas that need improvement before we play our first game. The Coaching staff and I are excited about the level of effort, enthusiasm, commitment, and toughness we brought to the field Saturday. We are also encouraged that all the mistakes we made are very fixable and coach-able, we look forward to working with you this week to iron those things out and be ready for our games this week.

This week we play Spring Lake Park, our rivals, who we play for a traveling trophy called "The Block". Last year we won The Block with a resounding 35-0 victory, we can be sure they will be out to avenge that loss in a big way. This week we move to regular school time schedules to accommodate teachers being back at work, and we only have 3 days of practice due to a Thursday game night. This means we have no margin for error this week, we need every player to be RELAIBLE, SMART, have HEART, and be TOUGH if we want to make sure THE BLOCK STAYS HOME.
