Week 1 PC

Week 1 Park Center -2019

Players and Parents,

What a summer. Friday we broke Training Camp, it was a great two weeks where the coaches and players showed resiliency and flexibility. It was wasn't easy being at Edgewood for the summer or the first two weeks of the summer, but our program rose to the challenge and made no excuses. Our on the field and off the field focus was "Level Up" and being Reliable, and I am not sure I have ever had a team grow so much in two weeks.

We half-way moved backed to Irondale last Friday, special thanks to the parents who set up for Watermelon Run and were flexible as it turned into Moving Day. I know we did not show the gratitude and pageantry we usually do on this day, but we appreciate your efforts and it was a great way to end camp and get some refreshment before hauling our gear down the block.

We will be based out of the new storage building this week until we get the final all clear to move into the locker-room and classroom we usually use. All the players and coaches are excited to get back on the turf and some normalcy.

This week we will focus our attention on being Smart football players and our weekly quote to guide our efforts will be:

“If your going to be GREAT, you can’t ever be SATISFIED ” -Dabo Swinney-

We made significant progress over the summer and especially over the last two weeks, but that success needs to lead to more of the same effort, attitude, and mindset that got us there. We have great potential with this group, but also lots of work to do if we wan't to be our best.

Varsity Only Labor Day Practice- Monday September 2nd 7pm-9pm

We usually give players Labor Day Off in preparation for school. This year we have a rivalry game with Spring Lake Park that week and can't afford to have a shortened practice week. We will have a practice for Varsity players that night from 7pm-9pm, this time will hopefully allow for travel if people are out of town. If you have conflicts please contact me.
