Players and Parents,
Our off season programming comes to an end tomorrow, Thursday August 2nd with the last day of lifting. It has been an amazing summer. We have demanded more this summer from this group of 9th-12th graders than we have ever demanded, and they answered by having the best summer in my tenure as head coach. We have a few more events in August, but the focus of this email is to make sure players and parents are set for the start of the Season Monday August 13th.
2018 Football Season Ready Check List
(Need current sports qualifying physical on file with school, usually due 9th and 12th grade)

4. __ Equipment Provided by Player (Cleats, Gym Shorts, Under Garments, Water Bottle, Gym Shoes, Food split practice days; most players also provide their own 5 Pad Football Girdle which goes under football pants.)
5. __ Parents Sign Up for Volunteer Opportunities
We need parent volunteers to make our season run smoothly. 9th Grade parents need to sign up for shifts in the concession stand, and all other parents should help out as much as they can. Our boys have committed to working very hard this summer. Please do everything/ anything you can to help make them have a top rate experience.
Various Dates- Concession Stand Shifts Sign-Up

August 24th- Watermelon Run Volunteers
6. __ FIRST DAY OF FOOTBALL INFO

All players must be registered online to participate in practice. If you are not registered and plan on playing, you must still be at practice everyday and watch until registration is completed.
UPDATE REQUIRED PARENT/ PLAYER MEETING
Fall Round Up Parent Meeting w/Mr. Fink and Coach Fuller 6:30pm Auditorium (Players and Parents must attend)
All incoming 9th graders and incoming 12th graders need updated Sports Qualifying Physicals. These can be completed with your primary care provider, or through any local clinics. Once completed they need to be turned into Sue Weber in the Activities Office at Irondale. Your online registration for the season can not be completed until this has been updated in the computer system, and you can not participate until your online registration is completed. My suggestion is that you get it done before August 1st, so that you won't miss practice time waiting for it to be compelted.
Many places offer free Sports Physicals this time of year. Including Nova Care, our athletic training partner. There will be an email soon about dates and times those will be offered. Other options for free Sports Physicals include:
Youth Camp August 6th, 7th, 8th
We will be hosting Irondale Youth Football Association's Camp this year on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday above. Players are encouraged to volunteer at the camp, and can earn Helmet Shields for each day the participate. Volunteers should plan on being there 5:30pm-8:30pm
Stock Yard Days Parade Thursday August 9th
We will again be promoting Irondale Football and giving back to the community by walking in the Stock Yard Days Parade. This year we will also have players from the Youth Association Walking with us, and it will be a chance to show off our new uniforms for the 2018 Season. Specifics and details to come soon.
