You will need to order your summer sports uniform (basketball or cricket). PLEASE NOTE THE INDIVIDUAL SUMMER AND WINTER SPORTS UNIFORMS ARE CHANGING AND THEY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE END OF JAN 2026. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THE CURRENT UNIFORM NOW. MORE INFORMATION TO COME.
SPORTS - Overview
There are two sports seasons at Prep: Summer (cricket or basketball) and Winter (rubgy or soccer). You son will choose his sport at the commencement of each year.
The sporting seasons do not follow the school terms - see below.
Summer sport - Term 1 and Term 4
Winter sport - Term 2 and Term 3
Note that Winter sports conclude around the middle of Term 3 when there will be a small break until Summer sports commence in Term 4.
Training and Saturday fixtures
Sports training is held on Wednesday afternoons from 3-4.30PM combined with an in-school training session every second Friday.
Locations for training will be confirmed shortly.
Boys will then play each Saturday with the fixtures shared by Prep on the Thursday prior to the game.
Sourcing information
All of this information (and more) can be found on the sports pages of the Prep website.
You will also receive an email from the Director of Sports, Mr Riddett with detailed advice at the start of each season.
Please read through it carefully. We will also have details on this class page in 2026.
Uniform
Summer sports uniform - please wait for instruction from Mr Riddett regarding availablility of the new summer sport uniforms for cricket and basketball.
Winter sports uniform must be ready for Term 2 - we recommend purchasing this at towards the end of Term 1.
TEAM SPORTS UNIFORMS
For Saturday sports and after-school sports training, boys will need to wear their team sports uniform.
Note that basketball singlets require your son's unique number to be on the back and this will be communicated by Prep prior to the start of your first summer sport season. Please advise Midford of this number when ordering your son's basketball singlet.
Shoes worn to basketball and cricket need to be mostly white, soccer and rugby boots need to be mostly black. Soccer boys need shin pads, while rugby boys need mouth guards and headgear (optional).
For cricket, boys should be in long white pants (purchased from any sporting shop) and may wish to use their own bat.
Please save the date for next year's Welcome Back Party, Saturday 21 Fenruary at 6.30PM!
It's always such a fun way to reconnect with your year group/s and the wider Prep community.
We even have some new offerings which we hope you will love - French Champagne and Cocktails for purchase, plus live music!
