All Terrey Hills Excursions run from approx. 08:30-2:50pm and require minimum two parent volunteers per trip. Volunteers can accompany the boys on the school bus or can drive themselves if preferred. Remember there are no lunch orders on a Terrey Hills day (packed lunches only) and the boys should wear PE uniform with their colored house shirts.
For parents volunteering on Terrey Hills days:
Drop your son off at school as usual and drive to the Terrey Hills campus (Located at: 139 Tooronga Road, Terrey Hills). You will need to arrive by about 9:30am OR parent volunteers can accompany the boys on the school bus OR your son can accompany you to Terrey Hills by car and meet the class there at 9.30am.
Please send an email to the teacher before 8:00 am, informing them of your travel arrangements.
Volunteers need to bring their own lunch, snacks, and water, and dress comfortably to run around, get messy in the kitchen and join in the fun. Bring a hat.
The day usually ends around 2pm. Volunteers have the option to take their sons home directly from Terrey Hills or meet them back at school.
The Volunteer Form which will include your WWCC number will need to be emailed to volunteer@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au at least one day prior to volunteering for the first time, so the school can keep this on their records.
Please reach out if you would like to volunteer!
School Uniform Guidelines
Mosman Prep boys are expected to model their love of their School (and respect for its 120 year history), by wearing their uniform correctly, and reminding others to do the same.
Primary boys are to ensure they:
Wear full school uniform, including varsity cap, to and from school unless they have been directed otherwise by their teacher.
Have socks pulled up, top button of shirt and tie done up, and shirt tucked in.
Wear their blazer done up when worn (blazer not required in Term 1 and Term 4).
Polish their black shoes regularly.
Wear predominantly white sports shoes only on dedicated sports days or with sports uniforms as directed.
Wear their sports uniform only on PE days, sports days, or as directed by teachers (boys involved in before school activities must be in full school uniform prior to the first class of the day).
Maintain hair in a neat and tidy fashion (off ears and collar, and out of eyes).
Play for students who do not bring their sun hat to school is being restricted, so please ensure it either remains at school or stays in your son’s bag.
Car Lines - All Boys not engaged in after school care or enrichment activities are to be collected from the car lines at the designated time (2.50pm).
For those collecting from the car line, please stay in your vehicle at all times and a staff member will assist your son getting into the car. A sign bearing your son’s name or family name displayed on the car windscreen helps maintain traffic flow at carlines.
For any parent or carer collecting on foot, please move away from the car line area as soon as you have collected your son.
Please do not park in the car lines (from the front of the main building all along the tennis courts all the way to in front of the EE stairs, look at signage). Do not double park or pull into driveways even if leaving the car idle with another child or adult in the car.
If you have arrived early or you have picked up a son in Y1 and are waiting for another in a different time slot, you are required to do laps until your next son's time slot. This makes the car lines sidewalk available to boys already waiting to be picked up.
A good area to park is on the next block of Shadforth street or on Canrobert street. Please do not turn right onto Canrobert Street from Mosman Prep's block of Shadforth Street during drop off and pick-up hours due to congestion with commuters.
Home Learning - Home learning will be given out on a Monday and is due back on a Friday. Each family approaches home learning differently, so please be advised that besides weekly readers, the following is optional:
Readers - 4 readers chosen by your son. These are to practise reading fluency.
Maths Booklet - each week there will be one page of problem solving and one page of questions related to the topic taught the week before.
English Booklet - each week there will be pages from the InitiaLit program that correlates to the lessons taught in class.
WUSHKA - online readers.
MATIFIC - online maths program.
Uniform Shop - the second-hand uniform shop is open during school term every Tuesday 7.45am to 8.15am, and occasionally on Thursday afternoons (subject to volunteer availability and will be advised separately).
The uniform shop is run by parent volunteers- if you are keen on volunteering, please reach out to Ginny Lacy-Lyle from the P&F on Mob: 0409 545 303 or email: ginnyvacylyle@gmail.com
Please note all volunteers need to have a Working With Children check. This is a simple process and can be arranged here: WWCC Application
The Volunteer Form which will include your WWCC number will need to be emailed to volunteer@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au at least one day prior to volunteering for the first time, so the school can keep this on their records.
Canteen - recess and lunch orders can be ordered online at https://www.flexischools.com.au or download the app. NO CANTEEN ORDERS ON TERREY HILLS DAYS.
The canteen is always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, you can book in here:
The shifts are from 10.20am to 11.20am and it is very easy - just some basic food preparing (chopping etc) with no kitchen or cooking experience required.
Any questions about canteen volunteering, please contact Jeff Brown @ 0400410737.
Lost Property - Please label all school items. Lost property is held in the black storage boxes in the undercroft. Students are welcome to look for any lost items there at lunch times. Any unlabeled items remain in the boxes until the end of term. After this, items are donated to the uniform shop.
Absences - All absences need to be advised to the front office prior to 8:20am. You can call the front office directly on 99684044 or email through at school@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au. Please include your child’s name, teacher’s name or class and the reason for the absence.
If you arrive late to school or your child is departing prior to the end of the day, a sign-in/out note needs to be obtained from the front office and handed to the classroom teacher. You will be required to obtain this note BEFORE delivering/collecting your son from class.
Clifton Gardens - Year 1 will be going to Clifton Gardens on Friday afternoons. Pickup from Clifton Gardens is at 2:20pm, otherwise as normal from school carlines at 2:50pm. If you are picking your child up from Clifton Gardens, please ensure you speak directly to the class teacher before leaving. If your son is attending After School Care or an after school enrichment, they will be escort to their activity once they arrive back at school.
Mosman Prep App - a reminder to download the school app. It has lots of information, but don't forget to turn the notifications on!
Birthdays - Celebrations are an important part of children’s lives and they are welcome to share birthday celebrations in the classroom. If your son would like to bring in a treat to share with the class to recognise his birthday, it is recommended he bring cupcakes or ice blocks, or any item that can be handed out individually. Alternatively, cookies and ice blocks can be purchased through our school canteen. Please ensure you are mindful of any students who have allergies. If your child does have an allergy, you can bring to school alternative treats that can be given specifically to your child on these occasions.
Nut Free Policy Please remember the school has a strict nut free policy. This should be adhered to for any food sent to school including recess, lunch, Terrey Hills and birthday celebrations.
The Parent Lounge - The lounge is located within the school app/website, under "Parent Resources" and is where academic reports are accessed each year.
To access the Parent Lounge: Parent Lounge Login
User name: Your school account number - as shown on your school fees invoice. Password: your own password. Reset to set up a new password.
In addition, the parent lounge is also used to share our class contact list, should you wish to share your details. This is entirely optional.
To share your details:
Go to "Parent Details" in drop down menu at the top, then "Parent Directory" then click on the "Maintain" button.
choose the specific details you wish to share in the parent directory by ticking the relevant box under "Share" and then click "Save Changes". These details you choose to share will be able to be viewed by the group.
to view the parents directory, go to the "Parent Details" drop down menu at the top, then "Parent Directory", then "View parent directory". Then, under "Parent Directory Links", there will be a link to whole of Kindergarten and also one just your child's class: KB or KO.
