Boys are expected to wear sports shirt, white shorts or navy Mosman Prep track suit pants (or else navy tracksuit pants that aren't school official), mostly white sneakers, sun hat, and either a Mosman Prep fleece or tracksuit top.
In the winters they are also permitted to wear a white or navy long underwear shirt under their sports shirts for an extra layer.
Make sure you have a change of shorts, shirt, underwear and socks and a plastic bag for accidents or on hot days the boys sometimes enjoy water play.
Don't forget your son's hat otherwise he will be sitting out of play
Please ensure all items are labelled visibly.
Secondhand Uniform shop: Tuesdays 7:45-8:15am
Each year the class parents may request an optional contribution of $60 from each family for the slush fund. This is to cover teacher or boy birthday, end of year gifts etc.
Surplus in the slush fund can be used for last day ice blocks or can roll over for the next year.
Any money left in the account at the end of Year 6 will be donated to the School and the account would need to be closed off.
Bank account details will be shared shortly.
Boys will need morning tea, fruit snack and lunch packed daily as well as a water bottle.
Please ensure that there are no nut products and let the teachers know if your son has any allergies that all parents should be aware of when packing food for school.
We ask that you pack a different container for each "meal/snack" so one container for morning tea, one for fruit snack, and a third for lunch.
While the boys don't always eat the right thing for each mealtime, it does help to reduce the chances of your son eating all his food at fruit snack having nothing left for the rest of the day.
There are canteen orders which you can order in advance and as late as 9 am on a given morning by using the flexischools app or webpage.
Early Entry boys can only have lunches ordered there, so be sure to pack him fruit and morning tea.
Please do not park in the car lines (from the front of the main building all along the tennis courts all the way to in front of the EE stairs, look at signage).
Do not double park or pull into driveways even if leaving the car idling with another child or adult in the car.
Best bet for a parking spot is on the next block of Shadforth street or else on Canrobert street.
Please note there is no turning right onto Canrobert St from Mosman Prep's block of Shadforth Street during drop off and pick-up hours due to congestion with commuters.
Please make sure to bring your sons into the classroom
All absences need to be advised to the front office prior to 8:20am.
You can call the front office directly on 02 9968 4044 or email through at school@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au
Please include your child’s name, teacher’s name or class and the reason for the absence.
If you arrive late to school or your child is departing prior to the end of the day, a sign-in/out note needs to be obtained from the front office and handed to the classroom teacher.
You will be required to obtain this note BEFORE delivering/collecting your son from class.
Upcoming Terrey Hills
We have three visits scheduled to our Outdoor Learning Centre at Terrey Hills this term.
22 October
12 November
26 November
NB for these visits, no parent volunteers will be required.
*Note - there are no lunch orders on Terrey Hills days as the boys leave on the bus before the canteen can fulfill the orders.
Parents who participate will drop the boys off at school as usual and drive to the Terrey Hills campus to arrive about 9:30.
Parents need to pack their own lunch and tea, and dress comfortably to run around, get messy in the kitchen and join in the fun.
The day usually ends around 2pm when parents are free to take their sons home directly from TH or else meet them back at school.
All volunteers must fill in the Volunteer Form and have a current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Daily volunteers are essential to the school maintaining a cost-effective and smooth-running canteen service.
As a parent volunteer, you'll work alongside canteen staff and serve the boys during busy recess periods, 10:20-11:20am.
No kitchen or cooking experience required.
Use this link to sign up for a 1-hour shift any day(s) during school term.
Any questions about canteen volunteering, please contact Jeff Brown @ 0400 410 737.
Please send completed forms to school@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au
The uniform shop is run by a small group of parent volunteers with all proceeds going to the P&F.
The shop needs an additional 1-2 people to join the volunteer roster.
You will be required to open the shop once per month.
If you are interested in volunteering in the uniform shop, please contact Ginny Vacy-Lyle on 0409 545 303.
