Dr. Craig Morton was born and raised in Salem, Illinois. His first job was working in his father’s small business of 35 years. It was there Craig saw the importance of healthcare and the impact on everyday life. He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois. After a few years, Dr. Morton worked his way up to be the Director of Pharmacy at a Level 1 trauma center at Mt.Sinai Hospital - Chicago.
Dr. Morton returned to his hometown of Salem, with his wife of 20 years, to focus on raising his three children. With the desire to continue serving his community, he purchased his father’s independent pharmacy where he now employs 10 people. In 2018, he was honored as the Salem Chamber of Commerce as Business Person of the Year. In 2015, he was elected to the Salem City Council, where he is currently serving his second term. Dr. Morton has also served on the Salem Library Board, Catholic Parish School Board, as well as the Parish Council. In 2018 Dr. Morton also was a Texas Ironman finisher.
As a small business owner in the healthcare field, he’s seen the struggles families go through to make sure their healthcare needs are being met.
Dr. Morton is tired of the partisan politics and wants to keep America moving forward. As citizens, we need an advocate like Dr. Craig Morton , championing our small community values, and making sure there are economic opportunities for everyone. He's not extreme liberal or conservative but is fighting for what's right for our community.
