Expectations
Show up for practice on time and ready to go.
Missing practice for an unexcused reason could result in not going to meets.
Communicate well in advance if you are going to be gone.
Wear appropriate gear for the weather and for meets.
We golf in all kinds of weather so be sure to dress in layers.
We will wear our golf team outfit to conference meets (wear Tiger gear).
Wear appropriate footwear for use on a golf course (tennis shoes or golf shoes).
Keep your grades at an acceptable level.
If you have F’s or several missing assignments, you will not be going to meets/practice.
Start working on this now.
Be respectful, courteous, and responsible.
Stay positive and always pick up your teammates.
Be honest. Cheating is grounds for removal from the team.
Work hard and improve every day.
Be prepared!
Practices
Practices will be out at the Pomme De Terre Golf Course once the course is open.
There will be a van going out there after school, or you may ride with friends/parents if you have a signed permission slip.
Early season practices might be in the gym/media center/classroom/behind school.
Wear appropriate shoes in the gym.
Qualifying
We will qualify for most of the meets.
This means playing a certain number of holes to determine the top 6-7 golfers.
Qualifying is not necessarily the only factor in determining the top 6 golfers.
Practices, meet results, coaches discretion, attitude, knowledge of game, etc.
Meets
Be prepared and on time for all meets.
Checklist of items to have: clubs, golf balls, tees, golf glove, ball markers, towel, hat/sunglasses, polo, rain gear, golf shoes, cold weather gear (hat, gloves), warm weather gear (sunscreen, water, bug spray), etc.
Do your best!
Lettering
You must participate in half of the varsity meets.
No violations of MSHSL.
If you ever have questions or concerns, ask me. Let’s improve and have a great year!
