The Virtual Learning Service (VLS) provides flexible and personalized online learning opportunities for students in grades 5-12 with New York State certified teachers-of-record. Working cooperatively and collaboratively with local school districts, the Mohawk Regional Information Center (MORIC) provides students with rich and varied opportunities to further their education in a supportive online community.
For Grades 5-12 Students
Our Middle School and High School virtual online students will learn with our NYS certified teaching staff. Students may be enrolled in one class or a full course load. Asynchronous learning happens in a 24/7, anywhere, anytime learning environment. Weekly synchronous teaching sessions focus on enriching and supporting student online courses.
For Grades 5-12 Students
Our Virtual Learning Center offers synchronous connections between students and certified teachers, who provide supplementary learning assistance that complements their current VLS coursework. This service does not replace any special education service a student might require.
For Grades K-12 Students
MORIC virtual tutors facilitate synchronous sessions from 8:30-11:30 and noon-3 daily on school days. Virtual tutoring is for short and long-term needs, such as homebound instruction or suspensions, but is NOT appropriate for core instruction.
