Dr. Vera S. Weber - Technology Integration Specialist at Montevideo Public Schools
Working as the Technology Integration Specialist for Montevideo Public Schools is like coming home. As someone born and raised in the Montevideo area, I was fortunate to attend Sanford Elementary School, Central Middle School, and graduate from the Montevideo High School. It's exciting to walk through the halls that I passed through as a student and now walk through the same halls as an educator.
For the first time in the history of education, digital technology provides us with the tools and resources to meet the needs of each individual learner.
My purpose is to support and encourage educators to create digital instruction that meets the individual needs of the learners in their environment.
My educational background includes the following:
- PhD in Education Specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning - Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota (2015)
- MS degree in Education focusing on Teaching and Learning with Technology - Minnesota State University, Moorhead, Moorhead, Minnesota (2009)
- BS degree in Elementary Education- Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, Minnesota (1993)
Teaching has always been my passion. Throughout my 20+ years of experience, I have worked as a Parent Educator with ECFE, as a 3rd grade teacher, and most recently, as a Technology Integration Specialist. While most of my teaching occurred in elementary classrooms, since 2010 my time has been devoted to helping teachers use their technology better. Using technology to improve learning drives me to continually search out new resources and tools that empower teachers and fuel inspiration in learners.
