Networks of Excellence

for Causation & Complexity in the Conscious Brain

Networks of Excellence (NoE) is a major research network at Monash University. NoE facilitates international collaborations with partner PIs in the world to further our understanding of the Causation and Complexity in the Conscious Brain.

NoE is an initiative led by Prof Tim Bayne, Prof Jakob Hohwy (Philosophy), A/Prof Nao Tsuchiya (Psychology) and Dr Kavan Modi (Physics) in Monash University. Collaboration involves international world-leading philosophers, neuroscientists, and physicists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University College London, Nanyang Technological University, and New York University. It is financially supported by Monash University.

23 -28 September 2018 - Conference on complex systems will be held at Thessaloniki, Greece.

14 August 2018 - A one-day physics and consciousness workshop was held at Melbourne, Australia. Speakers include David Chalmers (NYU), Kelvin McQueen (Chapman), Felix Binder (Nanyang) and Leonardo Barbosa (University of Wisconsin-Madison).
