Welcome to
Thank you for your interest in the METCONN study!
It is well established that as we get older, so does our brain. But did you know that some brains age differently than others?
The Cognitive Neuroimaging team at Monash Biomedical Imaging is currently running a study to shed some light on why some brains age faster or slower than others.
Our team theorises that many of the mental changes brought about by aging could be the result of changes in how the brain uses the energy provided by sugar and oxygen. Using state-of-the-art MR-PET scan technology and blood biomarker analysis, our team is confident that our study could help us discover new ways to keep our brains younger and healthier for longer!
To accomplish our goal, we are currently looking for participants aged from 20-to-90 years old, who would like to help us learn new and exciting things about the brain!
Participants will be asked too...
-Fill in an online questionnaire.
-Visit our Labs in Clayton for some in-person testing.
-Take part in an MR-PET scan (pictured).
Our team is committed to your safety, and responsibly practices proper hygene and safety proceedures in our experimental conduct.
We will also compensate you for your time.
