Graphic Design at Marketing Solutions Company
Role: Graphic Designer
The intern will support real client briefs and Emmpressit’s Digital Pillar brand work, gaining hands-on experience across digital projects. Tasks include layout design, basic video editing, basic web design, and social media visuals. They’ll receive creative mentoring and feedback throughout.
The intern must be familiar with standard illustration and layout software, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. Additionally, if interns have UI/UX knowledge and interest, they may assist with basic wire-framing or layout design for web projects using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
Interior and Furniture Design Internship
In addition to the mentorship provided by the CEO, interns will also be supported by senior UI/UX designers and marketing strategists on a project basis, depending on their assigned tasks.
Design layout concepts and furniture solutions for our souvenir retail space. Tasks include spatial planning, mood board creation, 3D modelling, and rendering. Interns should have an eye for functional, aesthetic, and brand-aligned interior environments.
Study App
Support the design of user-friendly digital interfaces. Help create layouts and test designs to improve how users interact with our website or app. Experience with design tools like Figma and an interest in development are helpful.
Communication Aids for Academic Staff
Visual Communication Designer
We are seeking an intern with a penchant for designing visuals and infographics to communicate complex ideas/processes to academic staff.
These complex processes include project management, funding applications, and recruitment. Detailed information will be provided to you, to synthesise into strong visuals. You will receive close supervision to maximise your internship experience, while enabling space for creativity/design.
The intern will receive a one-off payment of $1,000.

Role 1 | Communication Designer
(and/or Motion/Multimedia design)
Design engaging communication assets to support the FREE program, including presentation templates, social media graphics, and event collateral. The intern will translate complex program themes into accessible visual content and must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign.
Role 2 | Education Experience Designer
Create educational materials to support participatory workshops and asynchronous learning in the FREE programs. Tasks include developing visual aids, activity guides, and interactive assets. The intern should have skills in visual storytelling, layout design, and be comfortable working with Miro, Figma or equivalent tools.
VR-ELOVATE
VR-ELOVATE is a no-code virtual reality content creation platform designed to empower non-technical users to build immersive 180° and 360° learning experiences. This research project focuses on redesigning VR-ELOVATE to enhance accessibility and usability for people with cognitive impairments. By co-designing with stakeholders and evaluating its impact on employment readiness, the project aims to improve inclusive training outcomes and support disadvantaged groups in overcoming barriers to employment and entrepreneurship.
Role 1 | UX/UI Designer
Redesign the VR-ELOVATE platform interface to enhance usability and commercial appeal. The role focuses on layout, interaction design, and accessibility—no coding experience required. Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD is preferred.
AdraCard Seamless Carriage Project
Role 1 | UX/UI Designer
Design and deploy a responsive ecommerce site and marketing microsite for a new consumer product range. The site will feature product demos, lifestyle content, and checkout functionality. Produce multimedia marketing material.
Role 2 | Industrial Designer
Design a sleek, user-friendly phone case system that seamlessly carries commonly misplaced items (e.g. keys, glasses). The product must balance minimalism with everyday utility and aesthetic appeal. Familiarity with 3D modelling, prototyping and product ergonomics is required. Final concepts will inform prototypes and potential manufacturing pathways.
Role 3 | Commercial Strategy Intern
Define and validate a go-to-market strategy for a new consumer product range. The intern will analyse customer segments, pricing, distribution channels, and retail positioning. Deliverables include a business model canvas, pitch deck and sales plan for pilot launch.
Graphic Designer
Produce advertising and social media assets for publication in Australian Book Review’s print magazine and website. Interns may also be involved in paging, covers and design templates, as well as scanning, formatting, and digitising ABR’s archive. The intern must be familiar with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
