First Gerontechnology Symposium 2017

Gerontechnology Lab in collaboration with Global Asia in the 21st Century (GA21) Multidisciplinary Research Platform, Petrosains and IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) Malaysia Chapter will be organising the First Gerontechnology Symposium 2017 at Monash University Malaysia on 21 November 2017.

Introduction

The theme of the symposium is “Intergenerational Healthy Aging through Services, Design and Technologies.” This event is an international and interdisciplinary forum to share and exchange knowledge and information on the most recent research and development, as well as practical solutions to problems faced by older adults. The symposium will bring together academics/researchers, industry practitioners, government and NGOs from the Asian region (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong).

There will be seminars by academic researchers and industry practitioners as well as exhibitions to showcase IT and healthcare products and services.

Impact of the Symposium

  • A forum to explore how technology can improve quality of life and wellbeing as well as digital lifestyle of older adults.
  • A platform to connect academics/researchers, industry practitioners, government and NGOs from the Asian region (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong) on technology for independent living while promoting intergenerational family support for older adults.
