1000MYMicrobiome

You are invited to participate in a research study to profile 1000 Malaysian microbiomes through the sequencing of stool samples. This study is a collaboration between Monash University Malaysia and the Asian Microbiome Library Pte Ltd, the first ASEAN microbiome start-up. Your participation in this study is voluntary. Interested volunteers are encouraged to fill up the pre-registration form.

How to take part?

What will happen if I decide to take part?

If you decide to take part in the study, you will be asked to provide:

a) Stool specimen

b) Urine specimen

c) Saliva specimen (optional for participants within 10 km radius from Monash Sunway)

d) Diet information

e) Lifestyle information

You will receive a set of stool and urine collection kit, return mailing envelope, and an online link to submit your health, diet and lifestyle information.

What are the benefits of being in the study?

You will receive a simple report of the diversity and composition of your gut microbiota. Information obtained from this study will help improve our understanding of the health gut microbiota in Malaysian which may facilitate better intervention or management of subjects suffering gut related diseases in the future.

You will be given a small token of RM 50 for your participation in this study upon confirmation of specimens submission and completion of questionnaires.
